While I’m not a huge Slayer fan (I prefer Metallica), it’s still pretty epic to shoot Slayer.
Really, is there much more to say than that?
Shooting Notes
Don’t let the lead shot fool you, the lighting was rough for this set. With a lighting rig like the Midwest Bank Amphitheater has, you would think that they would employ some white lighting, but a strong red wash was present for most of the three songs. For a bit of one song there was a small amount of white front light (which is where the majority of this set comes from), and for a few seconds of another song, there was some blue light, but the vast majority of the set was red, red, red.
Luckily Slayer is a band that looks great in black and white!
I used the 24-70mm and 70-200mm on the 5D2s for this set.
